Birgunj Inland Revenue Office collects Rs 8.52 billion in revenue
Birgunj (Parsa), June 20 – The Birgunj Inland Revenue Office has collected over Rs 8.52 billion in revenue during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year 2081/82 BS, surpassing its target.
The office had set a target of around Rs 7.51 billion for the period but exceeded it by collecting 113.36% of the goal, according to Chief Tax Officer Tikaraj Chaulagain.
The largest portion of the revenue came from excise duty, which brought in Rs 4.5 billion. Income tax accounted for Rs 2.55 billion, and house rental tax contributed Rs 251 million.
Meanwhile, the office collected Rs 1.83 billion in Value Added Tax (VAT), falling slightly short of the Rs 2.22 billion target for that category.
