Former President Bhandari mourns victims of Air India plane crash

Kathmandu, June 13 – Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed deep sorrow over the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, that killed 241 people on Thursday.

In a social media post, Bhandari said she was heartbroken by the tragic loss of lives, including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who had once warmly welcomed her during an official visit to India. She paid tribute to Rupani, students of BJ Medical College, local residents, and the passengers and crew members who died in the crash of flight AI-171, which was headed to London from Ahmedabad.

She extended her condolences to the grieving families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
