Nepal reported 41 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.

 KATHMANDU, MARCH 16 – Nepal's number of active Covid-19 cases dropped to 4,574 on Wednesday, after 41 new infections were reported in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 978,085. No new Covid-related deaths were recorded today, so the death toll remains at 11,950.

Meanwhile, 213 people recovered from the virus today, pushing the total number of recoveries to 961,561.

According to the Health Ministry, 6,175 Covid-19 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours—4,790 were PCR tests and 1,385 were antigen tests. In total, Nepal has conducted 5,496,809 PCR tests so far.

Out of today’s tests, 82 people tested positive for Covid-19 (41 from PCR tests and 41 from antigen tests).

Nepal currently has a Covid-19 recovery rate of 98.3% and a fatality rate of 1.2%. There are also 106 people in quarantine facilities across the country.
