Nepal Veterinary Association Launches 24-Hour Animal Care Hotline
Kathmandu, June 8 – The Nepal Veterinary Association has launched a 24-hour telephone consultation service to support animal care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Starting Tuesday, pet owners and other animal caretakers across the country can call the toll-free number 1159 for veterinary advice. The service is supported by NIMBUS, the country’s first pellet feed mill.
Veterinary consultants, all members of the association, will be available to respond to calls 24/7, providing guidance and emergency consultations.
“With movement restrictions in place due to the pandemic, many animal caretakers were struggling to access veterinary care. This helpline aims to fill that gap,” the association said in a press release, adding that the service will continue throughout the pandemic.
In addition to the main helpline, the association has also shared contact numbers of around 300 veterinarians and may expand the service to include video consultations.Kathmandu, June 8 – The Nepal Veterinary Association has launched a 24-hour telephone consultation service to support animal care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
