Nepathya kicks off 2025 U.S. tour in Austin, Texas
KATHMANDU, MAY 19 — Nepathya, Nepal’s popular folk-rock band, kicked off its 2025 U.S. tour with a vibrant performance in Austin, Texas. According to their management company, Nepalaya, the show was held on Saturday at Emo's, a well-known music venue in the city.
The band played their brand-new song Karnali Ka Chhaila live for the first time, alongside other fan favorites. The concert started with video screenings of Sa Karnali and Mai Marijaula, followed by their classic hit Koshi Ko Pani, which got the crowd moving. Over the next two hours, the audience enjoyed a mix of old and new songs in Nepathya’s signature folk-rock style.
Between songs, lead singer Amrit Gurung spoke about his travels through rural Nepal and encouraged fellow Nepalis to visit and explore the country’s natural beauty whenever they can.
For the next leg of the tour, Nepathya will head north from Texas to Washington State. Their next performance is scheduled for May 23 in Seattle.
Joining Gurung on stage were Dhruva Lama on drums, Subin Shakya on bass, Niraj Gurung on guitar, Shanti Rayamajhi on the madal, and Dineshraj Regmi on keyboards.
Fans in the U.S. can buy tickets online through the band’s official website: www.nepathya.com.np.
