Paragliders Not Registered by Next Fiscal Year Will Be Considered Illegal
Kathmandu, June 25
From mid-July 2025, all paragliding companies in Nepal must register their paragliders with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
Starting in the fiscal year 2082/83 BS, every solo and tandem paraglider owned by these companies must be officially registered. Companies will have a three-month period from the start of the fiscal year to complete the registration.
If paragliders are not registered within this time, they will be considered illegal, and CAAN has warned that legal action will be taken against those who don’t comply.
CAAN also said that all companies holding operation permits from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation—as well as Recreational Aviation Operation Certificates (RAOC) and licenses for training institutes—must register all their paragliders.
