Sagarmatha Sambaad goodwill ambassador Chhatyal reaches the summit of Everest

Kathmandu, May 18

Assistant Inspector of the Armed Police Force (APF), Danta Bahadur Chhatyal, successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest this morning as a goodwill ambassador for the “Sagarmatha Sambaad” conference.

Chhatyal made it to the top at 9:20 AM, carrying the APF flag and a banner promoting the message of Sagarmatha Sambaad. The update was shared by APF Inspector and expedition coordinator Nirmal Basnet from Everest Base Camp.

Wangdi Sherpa climbed alongside Chhatyal and also reached the summit at the same time. Earlier, on May 5, Chhatyal had successfully climbed Lobuche Peak (6,114 meters) as part of his preparation.

Chhatyal was officially bid farewell on April 27 by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and APF Chief Raju Aryal, who wished him success on his mission.

The three-day Sagarmatha Sambaad, which focuses on “Climate Change, Mountains, and the Future of Humanity,” concludes today in Kathmandu.
