Starting next fiscal year, all paragliders that are not registered will be considered illegal.

 Kathmandu, June 25

All paragliding companies in Nepal must now register their paragliders with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

Starting from the fiscal year 2082/83 BS (mid-July 2025), every solo and tandem paraglider owned by companies has to be officially registered. Companies will have three months at the start of the fiscal year to complete this registration.

If they don’t register within this time, their paragliders will be considered illegal, and legal action will be taken against those who don’t comply.

CAAN also said that all companies with operation permits from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation—including those with Recreational Aviation Operation Certificates (RAOC) and training licenses—must register all their paragliders.
