Three people have been arrested for cheating individuals out of more than Rs 6 million by promising them fake jobs abroad.

Kathmandu, June 10 – Police have arrested three people for scamming others out of more than Rs 6 million by falsely promising them well-paying jobs abroad in countries like Qatar, Portugal, Kuwait, and the UK.

The suspects are:

Hari Krishna Thakur (35) from Rautahat, currently living in Kathmandu-22. He allegedly took Rs 100,000 from someone by promising a job in Qatar.

Rina Gurau (41) from Nawalparasi East, now living in Lalitpur-5. She's accused of cheating three people out of Rs 1.855 million by offering fake jobs in Portugal and Kuwait.

Kabiraj Sipkhan (55) from Kavre, currently in Nagarjun-15, Kathmandu. He reportedly took Rs 4.114 million from a person by promising a job in the UK.

After taking the money, all three went out of contact with the victims.

Following complaints, police tracked them down and arrested them from different areas in Kathmandu and Lalitpur. They have been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu, for further investigation and legal action.
