About 122,000 tourists visited the Gorkha Durbar Museum.
Gorkha, July 21 — Over 122,700 tourists visited the Gorkha Durbar Museum in the past year. The museum chief, Jayanarayan Karki, said that out of these visitors, 84,257 were from within Nepal during the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. Many visitors come to the museum for study and observation.
The number of visitors has been steadily rising, with 119,187 tourists visiting the previous year (2080/81 BS). According to Karki, about 36,298 students came for school trips, and 2,003 visitors came from foreign countries outside Nepal.
The Gorkha Durbar Museum has been open to the public since 2065 BS. It showcases the life of King Prithvi Narayan Shah, who unified modern Nepal, along with weapons from that time, traditional costumes of various ethnic groups, and musical bands.
