Beyoncé and Jay-Z Steal the Spotlight as Paris Celebrates Celebrity Culture's Global Rise

PARIS, JUNE 29 — At this year’s Paris Fashion Week, it wasn’t the clothes that stole the show — it was the celebrities. In a world full of anxiety and a growing need for escape, star power overshadowed everything else, with fashion runways turning into star-studded spectacles.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z didn’t just show up at Louis Vuitton’s high-profile event — they became the main attraction. As they arrived at the Pompidou Center, flashing cameras and raised smartphones captured every moment. Even before the first model hit the runway, their photos were already circulating worldwide. K-pop stars like J-Hope and Jackson Wang livestreamed their entrance, while fans outside flooded social media with clips and photos.

As Fashion Week comes to a close, one thing is clear: people care more about who is wearing the outfits than the outfits themselves.

While celebrities and fashion have always gone hand in hand, 2025 has taken the obsession to a new level. "It's all about celebrity buzz now. Stars have become more influential than designers or stylists," said fashion editor Anna Barr.

Beyoncé’s head-to-toe custom denim outfit from Louis Vuitton, designed by Pharrell Williams, quickly went viral. Within a day, videos of her arrival racked up millions of views on TikTok—surpassing the brand’s own promotional content. Her receiving a Speedy bag directly from Pharrell became one of the most talked-about moments of the week.

However, her presence also sparked some controversy. A T-shirt she wore during her “Cowboy Carter” tour, featuring "Buffalo Soldiers," drew criticism from some Indigenous and Mexican groups, showing how quickly viral moments can also turn into debates.

This season has made one thing obvious: in today’s fashion world, the front row is no longer just in Paris—it’s on your phone screen. And what grabs attention now isn’t just the fashion, but the famous faces behind it.
