Dengue cases are rising in Surkhet, with four people reported dead so far.

KATHMANDU, July 21


Surkhet reported 1,837 dengue cases and four deaths in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, according to the District Public Health Service Office.


Udaya BC, the office's dengue focal person, said that the risk of dengue has been rising every year. The district had 639 cases in 2077/78, 1,322 in 2078/79, and 1,484 in 2079/80, before a slight drop in 2080/81.


Birendranagar, Panchapuri, and Gurvakot have been identified as the most high-risk areas for dengue.
