In Photos: Construction Moves Ahead While Flights Continue at TIA

 KATHMANDU, JULY 25

Construction is in full swing at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), where work on a new taxiway and apron area is underway alongside regular flight operations. Photos taken on Thursday show planes taking off, landing, and parked on the runway, while construction equipment and workers are busy in the background—highlighting the effort to upgrade infrastructure without disrupting daily air traffic.

The expansion aims to boost the airport’s capacity and efficiency. Once finished, the new taxiway and apron are expected to ease congestion and help flights move in and out more quickly at Nepal’s only international airport
