Jeep accident in Bajura kills two, injures 15

KATHMANDU, July 24
Two elderly passengers lost their lives and 15 others were injured when a jeep veered off a gravel road in Himali Rural Municipality, Bajura, on Thursday morning.

According to the District Police Office, the victims have been identified as 76-year-old Bija Rokaya and 75-year-old Bacha Rokaya from Kyudi village.

The jeep (Ba Pra 03-001 Ja 0338) was traveling from Kyudi to Ward 5 when it lost control on the rough road. It was carrying locals who were on their way to renew their social security allowance.

A rescue team and ambulance have been sent to the site, the rural municipality confirmed. Police said an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
