Kaski District Administration restricts vehicle movement on rural roads to prevent monsoon-related risks.

Kathmandu, July 11 – Due to increased risks of floods and landslides during the monsoon season, the Kaski District Administration Office has imposed temporary restrictions on vehicle movement along several rural routes. The restrictions, which came into effect on July 9, will last for 15 days.

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief District Officer Rudradevi Sharma on July 7. Under the new rules, all public and private passenger vehicles—except those providing essential services—must follow specific travel timings on these routes:

  • Birauta–Ghandruk, Birauta–Uleri, and Lumle–Landruk: Vehicles must reach their destination by 5:00 PM.

  • Ghandruk–Birauta, Uleri–Birauta, and Landruk–Lumle: Vehicles can start traveling only after 5:00 AM.

  • Kahukhola–Tangting: Trips must be completed by 4:30 PM, while travel from Tangting to Kahukhola is allowed only after 5:00 AM.

The District Administration has requested transport operators and the public to follow the rules for their own safety and apologized for any inconvenience caused.
