Lamjung District Administration restricts nighttime vehicle travel on landslide-prone road.
Kathmandu, July 11 – The Lamjung District Administration Office has banned vehicle movement at night along the Dumre–Besisahar–Chame road section, which is highly prone to landslides during the monsoon.
Following a decision by the District Security Committee on July 8, vehicles—except those providing essential services—are not allowed to travel between 7:00 PM and 5:00 AM from Besisahar to the Manang district border.
The restriction started on July 9 (Ashar 25) and will continue until the end of Shrawan (mid-August 2025). Officials said the move is aimed at preventing accidents and protecting lives and property during the rainy season.
The administration has asked for public cooperation and apologized for any inconvenience caused.
