Minister Pandey Vows Stronger Collaboration with Private Sector

KATHMANDU, JULY 28 — Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has said the government aims to strengthen collaboration with the private sector to boost tourism.

Speaking at the launch of the Tourism Policy 2082 at the Ministry today, Minister Pandey said the government is committed to supporting business growth, but real results will only come if the private sector takes the lead. “We’re ready to coordinate and cooperate, but meaningful progress depends on active leadership from private businesses,” he said.

He also noted that since the 2015 constitution was enacted, the Ministry has focused on aligning its policies with the federal structure outlined in the national charter.

Minister Pandey added that the proposed culture and aviation policies are currently under discussion at the Cabinet and will be followed by new laws and regulations to effectively implement the tourism policy.

At the event, Ministry Joint Secretary Indu Ghimire presented the main goals and priorities of the new policy, which include timely reforms and sustainable development of the tourism sector.
