Nepal-born Pravesh Rijal named among America’s top 100 AI leaders
Kathmandu, July 29 — Pravesh Rijal, Chief Data and AI Officer at Cross River Bank, has been honored on the AI100 list, which recognizes the 100 most influential artificial intelligence leaders in the United States. The award was presented at MachineCon 2025 in New York City on July 26.
Originally from Biratnagar, Nepal, Rijal has made a name for himself at the crossroads of AI, finance, and quantitative innovation. At Cross River, a tech-focused bank supporting major fintech companies, he leads the enterprise-wide data and AI strategy.
Rijal started his career at Citigroup, quickly rising in quantitative modeling roles. He later founded and led Cross River’s Quantitative Strategies team before becoming the Chief Data and AI Officer. He holds a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering from New York University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Quantitative Finance at EDHEC Business School in France.
The AI100 Awards honor leaders who are making real business impact through AI and data science. Winners are chosen for their innovation, influence, and ability to implement AI solutions in complex industries.
