NEPSE ends at 2,978 points with Rs 19.57 billion in daily trading

Nepal’s stock market continued its upward trend on Wednesday, with the NEPSE index rising by 5.17 points to close at 2,978. The market remained volatile during the day, dropping to 2,951 points around 2:10 PM before bouncing back due to strong buying activity.
However, daily turnover slightly dropped compared to the previous day, totaling Rs 19.57 billion, down from Tuesday’s Rs 20.08 billion.
Among the 250 companies traded, 98 closed higher while 152 declined. The Finance sector led the gains with a 3.23% rise, followed by Others (1.44%), Investment (0.90%), Hydropower (0.88%), Manufacturing & Processing (0.40%), and Trading (0.31%).
On the other hand, the Hotel and Tourism sector saw the biggest loss of the day, falling 1.10%. Development Banks (-0.92%), Microfinance (-0.72%), Non-life Insurance (-0.61%), Life Insurance (-0.50%), and Banking (-0.25%) also declined.
Two newly listed companies—Trade Tower and Sanvi Energy—hit the upper circuit limit with a 10% surge in price, closing at Rs 589.30 and Rs 525.40 respectively.
Top gainers included Green Ventures (+9.40%), Liberty Energy (+7.08%), and Best Finance (+5.97%). Meanwhile, Bhojyal Energy (-5.32%), Green Development Bank (-4.26%), Aabiyan Laghubitta (-4.13%), and RSDC Microfinance (-4.10%) recorded the biggest losses.
The five most traded stocks of the day were Himalayan Reinsurance, Shivam Cement, Nepal Infrastructure Bank (NIFRA), Butwal Power Company, and Nepal Reinsurance.
