PM Oli visits drought-affected areas in Madhes

MAHOTTARI, JULY 25 — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli visited drought-affected areas in the Tarai-Madhes region on Thursday to assess the situation firsthand.

This follows a cabinet decision on July 23 to officially declare Madhes Province a disaster-hit area for the next three months due to the ongoing drought.

Before his visit, PM Oli had held discussions with key ministers, the provincial government, and other relevant agencies to find solutions to the crisis, especially after the lack of rain severely impacted paddy planting in the region.
