Seven books shortlisted for this year’s Madan Puraskar

 Kathmandu, July 22

The Madan Puraskar Guthi has announced the shortlist of seven books in the running for this year’s prestigious Madan Puraskar.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Guthi revealed the titles selected from a total of 299 submissions. One of these will be awarded the top literary honor.

The shortlisted books are:

  • Urmal by Chuden Kawimo

  • Chhalabato: Kailashdekhi Gangasamma by Ramesh Bhushal

  • Darjyu Sanlap by Kumari Lama

  • Panchtatwako Palam by Manprasad Subba

  • Bahurupi by Shreyaj Subedi

  • Bhikshu, Byapar ra Bidroh (Nepalko Bhot–Chin Sambandha ra Bharat) by Sudheer Sharma

  • Hiuko Geet by Tirtha Gurung

Guthi Chairperson Kunda Dixit said one of these seven titles will be chosen as the winner of the Madan Puraskar.
