Sudurpaschim Province Approves Rs 33.47 Billion Budget for 2025/26

KATHMANDU, July 2 — The Sudurpaschim Province Assembly has unanimously passed the provincial government's annual budget of Rs 33.47 billion for the fiscal year 2025/26. The budget, originally presented on June 15, was approved on Wednesday after Minister for Economic Affairs Bahadur Singh Thapa formally proposed it in the assembly.

Minister Thapa said the government is determined to keep brokers and middlemen out of the budget process, calling it one of their main policy priorities. He acknowledged that limited resources remain a challenge but expressed confidence that input from assembly discussions would help shape a more refined, people-focused, and result-oriented budget.

He also introduced related appropriation and expenditure bills, which were discussed during the session.
