Team Ventures invests Rs 216.8 million in Annapurna Machha Dana Udyog

KATHMANDU, July 10 — Team Ventures, one of Nepal’s leading alternative investment firms, has invested Rs 216.8 million in Annapurna Machha Dana Udyog Ltd (AMDU), a fast-growing company that produces animal feed. This is AMDU’s first institutional investment and marks a significant milestone in its growth journey.

The investment, made jointly by Team Ventures and its partners, reflects their commitment to strengthening Nepal’s agricultural sector by supporting companies with strong potential for economic and social impact.

“We believe AMDU can become a national leader in sustainable feed production,” said Bikash Chandra Bhandari, Chief Investment Officer at Team Ventures. “This investment isn’t just about money — it’s about supporting local industries, reducing imports, and helping rural communities thrive.”

Yash Puri, CEO and Director of AMDU, welcomed the investment: “We’re proud to have Team Ventures as our first institutional investor. Their support proves that homegrown businesses like ours can scale up, innovate, and follow strong corporate practices. With their help, we aim to reduce reliance on imports and produce world-class products for both the domestic and export markets.”

The deal was also supported by the Commercial Agriculture for Smallholders and Agribusiness (CASA) Programme, a UK government-funded project implemented by Swisscontact and NIRAS. This partnership helped Team Ventures access expert advice, assess the market, and identify investment-ready agribusinesses.

Manish Bikram Shah, Country Manager for CASA Nepal, emphasized the broader impact of such collaborations: “This shows that agriculture isn’t just a development issue anymore — it’s a real investment opportunity. This single deal mobilized over 22 times the original grant amount.”

Team Ventures plans to continue investing in promising agribusinesses and contributing to Nepal’s sustainable economic growth.
