Two held for scamming people with fake foreign job offers

 Kathmandu, July 22

Police have made public two individuals accused of scamming people out of Rs 2.16 million by promising fake foreign job opportunities.

The suspects are Junu Rana Magar, 29, from Gorkha (currently living in Kathmandu-15), and Sudeep Kumar Yadav, 33, from Bardiya (currently living in Kathmandu-32). Magar allegedly took Rs 310,000 from someone by promising a job in Slovakia, while Yadav reportedly collected Rs 1.85 million from another person claiming to arrange work in Serbia. After taking the money, both went out of contact.

They have now been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal for further investigation and legal action.
