Apollo doctors discuss latest developments in gastroenterology and neurology at Kathmandu conference

Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals highlighted the latest developments in gastroenterology and neurology at a press conference held on August 16 at Hilton Hotel, Naxal Hall.


Two senior specialists from the hospital, Dr. Sanjay Sikka and Dr. P.N. Renjen, explained how advanced technologies are improving diagnosis, treatment, and patient care.


Dr. Sanjay Sikka, Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, shared Apollo’s approach to treating gastrointestinal, liver, and pancreatic diseases. “Our focus is on precise diagnosis, advanced therapeutic endoscopy, and personalized care to improve patient outcomes,” he said. The hospital offers services including high-definition diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, esophageal pH monitoring, and manometry. For complex cases, it provides advanced procedures like ERCP, EUS, EMR, ESD, EHL, and specialized techniques such as spyglass cholangioscopy, pancreatoscopy, POEM (Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy), and liver transplant support.


Dr. P.N. Renjen, Senior Consultant in Neurology, discussed the hospital’s expertise in treating stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, and neuromuscular diseases. “Neurology has seen remarkable advancements recently, and timely treatment with the right technology can greatly improve recovery and quality of life,” he said.
