Approval Granted to Issue License for Lower Arun Hydropower Project

 Kathmandu, Aug 30: The 66th meeting of Investment Board Nepal (IBN) has approved the draft license for the 669 MW Lower Arun Hydropower Project and authorized the IBN Chief Executive Officer to issue the project license.

The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday, also approved the draft related to direct investment in the ongoing Arun-3 Hydropower Project in Sankhuwasabha. It decided to recommend the proposal to the Council of Ministers for final approval, according to IBN spokesperson Pradyumna Prasad Upadhyay.

In addition, IBN authorized its CEO to issue a survey license for an agreement with the company that proposed the ‘Auto Service Eco-Industrial Park’ project, submitted as an unsolicited proposal to the board.
