Career Connection: Meeting of Partners and Beneficiaries

Kathmandu, August 15 – The Rotary Club of Kathmandu Mid-Town, in partnership with Edulift, organized a Career Connection Partner and Beneficiary Meet-Up at Xavier’s Academy, Lazimpat. The event brought together around 100 people, including programme partners, beneficiaries, educators, corporate leaders, and development professionals, all focused on empowering Nepal’s youth with skills and opportunities.

The programme began with a welcome speech by Neve M. Pradhan, President of RC Kathmandu Mid-Town and Point of Contact for the Global Grant Career Connection Project. She explained that Career Connection is aimed at helping young people, especially those from marginalized backgrounds, by providing training and job opportunities to close the skills gap in Nepal.

Tenzin Sonam, founder of Edulift, then gave a presentation on the project’s mission and progress. He shared success stories from the first year, highlighting how vocational training and job placements have helped graduates build careers in fields such as electrical services, IT, hospitality, and entrepreneurship.

Partner organizations like Career Coach Nepal, UCEP Nepal, Broadway Infosys, Upskill Nepal, and SajiloSewa also shared inspiring stories and discussed the impact of the programme on trainees’ skills, confidence, and career growth.

A highlight of the event was the Certificate Ceremony led by SajiloSewa, where graduates of electrical training were honored. Many of them have already secured jobs or internships.

Closing remarks were delivered by Bhim Udas, President of RC Kathmandu Mid-Town; Nirmal Rijal, project chair of Rotary District 3292; and Rtn Rachana Thapa, reaffirming Rotary’s commitment to youth development. A vote of thanks from Rtn Isabella Khadka expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, partners, and supporters.

Distinguished guests included Kumud Tripathi, Chair of Rotary Foundation (District 3292), and Rtn Sunil Shahi, Chair of the Rotary Foundation (District 3292).
