Couple dies after being electrocuted by electric wire set up to deter elephants

 Rajbiraj (Saptari), August 17 – A couple died from electrocution in Pipara, Kanchanrup Municipality-5, Saptari, early Sunday morning. The victims have been identified as 50-year-old Badri Sardar and his 45-year-old wife, Bimala Devi, said DSP Madhav Prasad Kafle.

The couple came into contact with a live electric wire that had been set up by Mahendra Sardar of Pipara to protect paddy fields from elephants. They were walking to their farmland, about 150 meters from their home, when the accident occurred.
