Crowds Flock to Pashupatinath on Shrawan’s Last Monday (Photos)
Kathmandu, August 11 – Today is the final Monday of the Nepali month of Shrawan, a day when devotees observing the traditional fast dedicated to Lord Shiva conclude their vows with prayers and rituals.
Shiva temples across Nepal have been crowded with worshippers since early morning, including a large turnout at Kathmandu’s Pashupatinath Temple.
Mondays during Shrawan are considered highly auspicious for Lord Shiva. Devotees observe fasts, offer prayers, donate, and perform religious rituals, believing that these practices bring happiness, peace, prosperity, and the well-being of their families.
To manage the large crowds, authorities at Pashupatinath have arranged security, deployed volunteers, and set up health camps and drinking water facilities for visitors.
