DLC Launches App Offering 3,500+ Free Online Lessons for Students

Kathmandu, August 13 – The Deerwalk Learning Center (DLC) has launched the DLC App, offering over 3,500 free online lessons for school students across Nepal. Unveiled at Sagarmatha Hall in the Deerwalk Complex, Sifal, the app features flipped classroom videos in Nepali, English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies for grades 4 to 11. The content follows the national curriculum from the Curriculum Development Centre, Sanothimi, and is organized for easy access by grade, subject, and lesson.

Hitesh Karki, Chairman of Deerwalk Group Limited, said that more than five million students and teachers have already benefited from the free lessons on the DLC website. He added that videos for Grade 12 and undergraduate levels will be produced soon to reach even more learners.

Ashok Dalli, CEO of Edutech Nepal, noted that over 200,000 students and teachers from more than 300 community schools with computer labs are already using the lessons.

Keshav Raj Ghimire, former principal of Khaireni Secondary School in Tanahun, praised the flipped classroom model for supporting learning during the COVID-19 pandemic and shared that he has voluntarily trained hundreds of municipalities, principals, and teachers on its use.

The launch was followed by a press conference where DLC officials, including Nirmal Kumar Paudel (Principal of Deerwalk Dhading School), Yukta Verma (Flipped Class Recording Coordinator), and Asara Shrestha (DLC Content Architect), answered questions about the app.

The Deerwalk Learning Center, which runs three schools, one college, and a training center, has been providing free educational videos for over a decade. The new app aims to make access to quality education more systematic, convenient, and widespread.
