Health Ministry Proposes Hiring 2,100 More Healthcare Workers
KATHMANDU, AUGUST 4 — The Ministry of Finance held a meeting with the Ministry of Health and Population to discuss how to implement the current fiscal year's budget (2082/83 BS). During the discussion, the Health Ministry proposed hiring 2,100 additional healthcare workers, including doctors and nurses, to expand specialized services to the provinces and upgrade federal hospitals.
Health Minister Pradip Paudel emphasized the urgent need to increase the health workforce to improve service delivery and healthcare quality across the country.
The meeting also covered several key topics, such as the national health insurance program, social security, free medicine for children, the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a new Bir Hospital in Duwakot, Bhaktapur, and issues related to burn treatment services.
