“Himalaya Airlines flies PM Oli and delegation to China on special diplomatic flight.”

 KATHMANDU, AUGUST 31: Marking its 10th anniversary, Himalaya Airlines operated a special diplomatic flight on Saturday, carrying Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli and his high-level delegation to Tianjin, China.


The Prime Minister was accompanied by his spouse Radhika Shakya, Education Minister Raghuji Pant, Tourism Minister Badri Prasad Pandey, Economic Advisor Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada, Members of Parliament, and senior officials. The delegation will return from Beijing on September 3 aboard a Himalaya Airbus 320-214.


Himalaya Airlines President Zhou Enyong personally welcomed the Prime Minister on board, while Vice President Vijay Shrestha bid farewell at Tribhuvan International Airport. “It is a great honor for Himalaya Airlines to operate a special flight for the official visit of the Head of Government,” Shrestha said. “We will continue serving the nation with the same commitment in the years ahead.”


The Airbus 319-115 (9N-AJK) departed Kathmandu at 07:23 NST and landed in Tianjin at 15:15 local time.


Founded in 2014 as a Nepal-China joint venture, Himalaya Airlines operates a fleet of four aircraft—three Airbus 320-214 and one Airbus 319-115—serving destinations in the Middle East, South Asia, and China. It is Nepal’s first and only IOSA-certified airline, also holding ISO 9001:2015 QMS certification, and is recognized for its safety, punctuality, and service quality.

Gold prices keep going up

  Kathmandu, June 18 — Gold prices have been rising in the international market since June 10, and this has also pushed up prices in Nepal. When the market opened today, the price of gold had gone up by Rs 900 per tola (11.66 grams) compared to Tuesday, while silver rose by Rs 65 per tola. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, gold is now being traded at Rs 195,500 per tola, and silver at Rs 2,225 per tola. This concern has grown after the U.S. military struck three Iranian sites over the weekend. The Strait of Hormuz lies between Iran and Oman. Iran has a large military presence in the area, including fast attack boats, sea mines, and missiles that could be used to block the strait.
