KOICA sends new volunteer to a school in Lalitpur

Kathmandu, Aug 29 – The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has sent a new volunteer, Nanhi Kim, to Shree Buddha Secondary School in Badegaun, Lalitpur.

Kim arrived in Kathmandu on July 25 and completed a one-month local adaptation training at the KOICA Nepal Office on August 28. The training introduced her to Nepalese society, culture, and language to help her adjust smoothly before starting her work. She will serve at the school for one year in the Social Welfare sector.

The Korea Overseas Volunteer (KOV) program has been running in Nepal since 1990. It aims to share Korean knowledge at the grassroots level, strengthen Nepal-South Korea relations, and support local development. So far, 493 KOICA volunteers have served in Nepal, with 10 currently active in districts including Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Baglung, Kaski, Ilam, and Kailali.
