Lawmakers Urge Government to Quickly Provide Fertilizers to Farmers

Kathmandu, August 4 – During today’s session of the House of Representatives, several lawmakers raised concerns over the shortage of fertilizers, urging the government to ensure farmers receive adequate supplies. Dev Prasad Timilsina, Prabhu Hajara, Basudev Ghimire, and others highlighted the difficulties farmers face due to limited access to chemical fertilizers.

At the same time, Durga Rai, Prakash Jwala, and Narayani Sharma spoke out against reports of a draft law that would allow polygamy under certain conditions. Rai warned that such a law could increase violence against women and give men unchecked freedom in marriage. Jwala also called on the government to make sure the upcoming Media Council Bill supports and protects the media.
