Man Arrested for Making Illegal Cryptocurrency Deals Worth Over Rs 7.8 Million

 Kathmandu, August 4 — Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in Kathmandu for allegedly carrying out illegal cryptocurrency transactions worth over Rs 7.8 million.

Sushant Dahal, originally from Sisapani, Hetauda-16, and currently living in Kaushaltar, Madhyapur Thimi-3, was arrested on August 2 around 6 p.m. from Kalanki, Kathmandu. The District Police Range, Kathmandu, acted on a tip-off about illegal crypto trading taking place at the location.

According to police, Dahal was involved in unauthorized transactions using digital currencies like USDT, Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Binance Coin (BNB), which are banned under Nepali law.

During the arrest, police seized a mobile phone and two SIM cards from him. Authorities say investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the illegal trading and to identify others who may be involved.
