Maoist Centre Pledges to End Infighting and Launch Internal Reforms
Kathmandu, August 4 – The CPN (Maoist Centre) has pledged to end internal divisions and carry out structural reforms in response to ongoing factionalism within the party.
At a Standing Committee meeting held today at the party's central office in Koteshwor, leaders decided to take disciplinary action against anyone acting against party decisions, spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota said. He added that special committees will be formed to monitor activities that threaten party unity and organization.
“The party has committed to becoming more disciplined and transparent,” Sapkota said, adding that a code of conduct and internal rules will be introduced to improve governance.
Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma has accepted the committee's decision and agreed to sign the resolution, according to Sapkota.
The party also announced plans to hold a Central Committee meeting between the Dashain and Tihar festivals. In a significant move, the Maoist Centre has decided to merge with the Biplav-led party, signaling a broader effort to unite like-minded forces.
