Narayangadh-Butwal Road Project deadline extended by one year

NAWALPUR, AUGUST 3 — The deadline for expanding the Narayangadh-Butwal road, part of the East-West Highway, has been extended by one year. The new completion date is now July 23, 2026. So far, only 70% of the work has been finished within the previous deadline.

The Narayangadh-Butwal Road Project office said this is the fourth and final extension. The contractor has promised to complete the work by the new deadline.

Most areas have been blacktopped except for Daunne, where road widening, concrete work, and building two remaining bridges are still in progress. The updated plan includes finishing a 65-kilometer, four-lane road, adding central dividers, and completing a 17.5-kilometer service road on the eastern side of the project.
