Nepal is going to play against Bhutan in the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers.

Nepal will face hosts Bhutan in the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers starting today in Thimphu, Bhutan.

The Group A match between Nepal and Bhutan will begin at 5:45 PM Nepali time at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu.

Nepal comes into the match with confidence after comfortably beating Bhutan twice in the recent SAFF U-20 Championship in Dhaka, Bangladesh. But Bhutan will have the advantage of playing at home with strong support from their fans.

Nepal’s head coach, Yam Prasad Gurung, said the SAFF tournament and AFC qualifiers are very different. He warned against underestimating Bhutan since they are playing on their home turf.

“SAFF and AFC qualifiers are different competitions. Bhutan is playing at home, and we respect their progress,” said Gurung. “They have crowd support and the home ground advantage. We won’t take them lightly just because of our SAFF results.”

In the SAFF U-20 Championship, Nepal beat Bhutan 6-1 and 8-0. Gurung also said Nepal will take all three teams in their group seriously and play with full focus.

On the other side, Bhutan’s coach Tanka Maya Ghale said her team is ready and positive about the qualifiers.

“We are prepared for the qualifiers and all our players are motivated,” she said. “We gained a lot of experience from the SAFF U-20 Championship, and by fixing our past mistakes, we hope to perform better this time.”
