Nepal ‘A’ wins second match in T20 cricket series against Assam
Kathmandu, Aug 29: Nepal ‘A’ secured their first win in the ongoing T20 series by defeating Assam by 96 runs in Guwahati, India.
Batting first, Nepal scored 173 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Top scorers included Sandeep Jora (35), Pawan Sarraf and Dev Khanal (31 each), Basir Ahmad (27), and Vivek Kumar Yadav (26 not out).
In response, Assam managed 77 runs in 15.2 overs while chasing the target of 174. Ruhinandan Pegu (17), Shivshankar Roy (16), and Aakash Sengupta (10) were the top scorers for Assam.
Nepal’s bowling was led by Yuvraj Khatri with 4 wickets, Basir Ahmed with 3, and Kamal Singh Airi, Akash Chand, and Vivek Kumar Yadav with 1 each.
Earlier in the series, Assam had won the first match by 15 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method (DLS). The T20 series is now tied 1-1, with the third match scheduled for Saturday.
