PM Oli: Doctors and medical equipment will be deployed to fight cholera in Birgunj

 Kathmandu, Aug 29: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced that doctors and health equipment from all four security agencies, including the Nepali Army, will be mobilized to prevent and control the cholera outbreak in Birgunj, Parsa.

Speaking in the House of Representatives, PM Oli expressed confidence that the epidemic will be contained, noting that the cabinet had approved measures earlier today. He expressed condolences for the three people who have died due to cholera and said the government is working hard to control the situation.

Investigations are underway to identify the source of the infection. The Prime Minister also mentioned that public awareness campaigns have been organized, and treatment for cholera patients is being provided free of charge at Narayani Hospital and other private hospitals in the district.
