PM Oli Holds Bilateral Talks With President Xi in China

 Tianjin (China), Aug 30: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping today at the Tianjin Guest House. Before the meeting, President Xi welcomed PM Oli to the venue.

PM Oli is in China to attend the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, leading a 26-member delegation at the invitation of President Xi.

On his arrival in Tianjin, he was received by Nepal’s Ambassador to China Krishna Prasad Oli, China’s Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song, and senior Chinese Foreign Ministry officials.

According to Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PM Oli will address the SCO Plus Summit in Tianjin on September 1.

Gold prices keep going up

  Kathmandu, June 18 — Gold prices have been rising in the international market since June 10, and this has also pushed up prices in Nepal. When the market opened today, the price of gold had gone up by Rs 900 per tola (11.66 grams) compared to Tuesday, while silver rose by Rs 65 per tola. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, gold is now being traded at Rs 195,500 per tola, and silver at Rs 2,225 per tola. International reports show that gold is currently priced at 3,393 US dollars per ounce in the global market.

Johannes Zutt Named New World Bank Vice President for South Asia

  June 30, Kathmandu – The World Bank has named Johannes Zutt as its new Vice President for the South Asia Region, replacing Martin Raiser. He will officially take on the role starting July 1, 2025.
