President Paudel Visits Heritage Sites in Basantapur

Kathmandu, August 4 – President Ramchandra Paudel, along with First Lady Sabita Paudel, visited several heritage sites in the Basantapur area of Kathmandu today. The area, which includes Hanumandhoka Durbar Square, is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.


During the visit, the President toured key historical and cultural landmarks within the Hanumandhoka Durbar Square complex, including Kal Bhairav, Taleju Temple, Nautale Durbar (Nine-Storey Palace), Nasalchowk, Mulchowk, and Trishulchowk.


He was welcomed by officials including Hari Prasad Mainali, Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation; Shaubhagya Pradhananga, Director General of the Department of Archaeology; and Kajiman Pyakurel, Executive Director of the Hanumandhoka Durbar Museum Development Committee.


Also present during the visit were federal lawmaker Sapana Rajbhandari, provincial assembly member Shailendra Bajracharya, and ward representatives from Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
