Rabindra Dhant Becomes First Nepali to Win MFN Title

Kathmandu, August 3

Nepali MMA fighter Rabindra Dhant made history at Matrix Fight Night 17 (MFN 17) by defeating Indian fighter Chungreng Koren to win the Bantamweight Championship title—becoming the first Nepali to claim an MFN title.

Koren, known as “The Indian Rhino” for his aggressive style and strong wrestling, came out strong, trying to take control early. But Dhant remained calm and stuck to a smart game plan.

The turning point came in the third round when Dhant landed a flurry of punches that left Koren struggling. A powerful combination forced the referee to step in, awarding Dhant a TKO victory.

The win boosted Dhant’s professional record to 8–1 and ended Koren’s five-match winning streak.

The crowd erupted in cheers as Dhant celebrated by proudly waving the Nepali flag atop the cage.
