“Revolving fund of Rs 2.7 million created for Rashtrakavi Ghimire Award”

Kathmandu, Aug 31: A revolving fund of Rs 2.7 million has been set up to regularly present the Rashtrakavi Madhav Prasad Ghimire Prize.

The decision was made at a meeting of the Masryangdi Literary Foundation on Saturday, chaired by its president Bijayaraj Neupane. Of the total, Rs 1.6 million was contributed by Mahakali Ghimire, wife of the late national poet, with additional contributions from family members.

According to treasurer Lakshman Thapa, the award will carry a cash prize of Rs 100,000 and will be presented annually on Ashoj 7, the birth anniversary of the Rashtrakavi. The fund previously had a balance of Rs 1.6 million.
