The Law Minister has promised that the government will not introduce any bill in Parliament that could negatively impact society.

Kathmandu, Aug 6: Minister for Law, Justice and Federal Affairs, Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya, has assured that the government will not bring any law to Parliament that could harm society.

Speaking in the House of Representatives, he addressed lawmakers’ concerns and promised that no law would be passed that could damage the country’s social structure.

He said proposed changes to laws on the legal age of marriage, polygamy, advanced bail, and presidential pardons will only move forward based on input from relevant experts and authorities.

A ministerial committee recently reviewed the draft amendments to the Criminal Code 2074 BS (2017) and related laws. The committee has now formed a subcommittee to further study the proposed changes, as more discussion and revision are still needed, the minister added.
