Nepathya Wraps Up Europe Tour with Final Show in Antwerp
KATHMANDU, September 6 – Nepal’s leading folk-rock band, Nepathya, wrapped up its Europe tour with a spectacular concert in Antwerp, Belgium, following earlier shows in London, Copenhagen, Malta, and Lisbon. According to the band’s management company, Nepalaya, the final performance at ESD Studio was a full-house event that marked the official end of this year’s European tour.
True to form, Nepathya began the show right on time at 8:00 p.m., opening with their classic hit Koshi Ko Pani Yo Jindagani. Over two hours, the band enthralled the audience with a mix of timeless favorites and newer songs, including romantic ballads like Mayapreeti, socially conscious tracks such as Yo Jindagani, awakening anthems like Gaun Gaun Bata Utha, and patriotic staples like Rato ra Chandra Surya.
Lead vocalist Amrit Shrestha used the performance to share messages of unity and cultural respect with the Nepali diaspora. He encouraged Nepalis living abroad to honor the culture of their host countries while staying connected to their roots. “Make the most of your time not only for financial gain but also for knowledge and experience,” he said. “One day, you must return to the lap of the Himalayas and contribute to the nation’s progress.” He also reminded the diaspora to preserve ties with Nepal, recalling the hardships of Nepalis repatriated from Burma, Meghalaya, and Bhutan.
On stage, Amrit was joined by Dhruva Lama on drums, Subin Shakya on bass, Niraj Gurung on guitar, Shanti Rayamajhi on madal, and Dineshraj Regmi on keyboards. Following the successful tour, the band’s 14-member entourage has returned home to Nepal.
