Neupane officially becomes Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration by taking the oath.
Kathmandu, July 16
Bhagawati Neupane, the newly appointed Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, took her oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday in front of President Ramchandra Paudel. The ceremony took place at the President’s office, Shital Niwas.
Neupane was appointed to the ministerial position on Tuesday following a recommendation from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The oath-taking event was attended by Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Oli, National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal, other ministers, security chiefs, leaders of constitutional bodies, Chief Secretary Eaknarayan Aryal, and several political leaders.
Before becoming a minister, Neupane worked as the Chief Whip of the CPN (UML) party in the National Assembly. She officially started her ministerial duties later that day at Singha Durbar.
