Orange farming being expanded in Chitwan

A total of 17,500 orange saplings have been distributed to farmers in Ichhakamana Rural Municipality, Chitwan. The saplings were provided to farmers in wards 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7 under a program to promote orange farming.

According to Section Officer Samikshya Paudel, 2,000 colony plants and 15,000 seed plants were handed out. The goal is to expand orange cultivation and create a model orange orchard in the area.

She also mentioned that the provincial government supported this program, which has led to an increase in orange farming. The total area used for orange cultivation has grown from 85 hectares to 90 hectares.
